There is a forest near my home

WAGAYA

A lot of wild birds and small animals live in there.
The squirrel (RISU), the kingfisher (KAWASEMI), and the owl (FUKUROU) also live in the forest.
We picked up a MATSUBOKKURI (pinecone) in a forest. And we filled there with bait called the bird cake

When it hangs it with a hemp string to the branch of the garden tree,
It seems to be an ornament of Christmas.

IIKANJI DESHO. (Very nice isn't it?)

The children are happy

BA-DO KE-KI NO TSUKURIKATA HA TOTTEMO KANNTAN.
You can make this bird cake by mixing KOMUGIKO (flour),
RA-DO (lard), and SATOU (sugar) by the amount at 5:3:2.
Then make the dough into a shape of a ping-pong ball

You may just put it in the garden

Then a big bird lasts by a mouthful. PAKURI!! (Gulp!!)
Well, it's good, too.

BA-DO KE-KI HA REIZOUKO DE NISHUUKANKURAI MOCHIMASU.
If a MATSUBOKKURI (pinecone) empties,
I fill the MATSUBOKKURI (pinecone) with a bird cake

Children are enjoying that the wild bird

For this season, I hung a pinecone yesterday.

So the wild birds are on alert now

YACHOU HA TADAIMA KEIKAICHU!!

Wow, Look!! MITE MITE!!

A wild bird flew to a pinecone and ate a bird cake

Hi, I chanced upon this blog while i was surfing the net today. I am one who is very interested in the Japanese culture and i can read and understand some Japanese (sukoshi dake). I like your blog very much as it is really informative about the regular Japanese housewife's lifestyle. The japanese words that are scattered everywhere on your blog are really helpful as i get to revise my japanese and learn new words too. I will be back to read more about your life in Japan. Cheers! =D

And I see you've put a few chiisai plants trying to grow :D

I am looking forward to seeing the chiisai plants get big little by little every year.
The e-bay account is not mine, this account is a thing of the companies where I was taken care of before.
Because this company offers this blog environment, I publicize it for thanks.

It is nice to know some things in Japan that you rarely read and see in magazines and newspapers. Keep up the good work! You have a good command in English, too.
