In Japan, Valentine's Day is a day of
the confession of the love (AI NO KOKUHAKU)
A required item to use for confession is chocolate.
KOKUHAKU SURU TOKINI CHOKORE-TO WO DANSEI KARA DEHANAKU JOSEI GA AGEMASU.
A woman presentschocolate to a man not handing chocolate from a man.
There are two such rules.
I think, it's gonna be only a Japanese to spend this day in this way.
The Japanese is not particular about much religion events.
AMARI KODAWARI MASEN.
In the same way as Christmas, we cut only the fun part of the overseas event.

And we change it to the totally different event.
Why is it chocolate?
NAZE CHOKORE-TO NANO DESHOUKA?
Because(NAZENARABA,) this is the custom that a Japanese confectionery company spread for sales promotion of the chocolate.
I think it is a very splendid idea to let the girl who is good at spreading the fashion purchase a lot of chocolate.
TOTEMO SUBARASHII KANNGAE DESUNE.
When Valentine's Dayapproaches, in most department stores and super, such a sales floor is established.
Chocolate is piled up in this way like a mountain. YAMAZUMI DESU!!
But there are few people confessing the love with chocolate seriously recently.
Probably(OSORAKU) it will be only a teenage girl to confess the love with chocolate seriously.
Most women buy chocolate for the man of an acquaintance and the fellow worker
as a so typical present of Valentine's Day recently.
The chocolate for small children is also sold.

By the way,(TOKORODE) in Japan, there is one more characteristic custom
that a woman holds on Valentine's Day.
TOTTEMO TOKUCHOU TEKI NASHUUKAN GA MOU HITOTSU ARIMASU.
To me, it is hard to understand, but a woman bakes a handmade cookie or cake of the chocolate.
And gives the sweets to the guy who she loves.
Therefore the ingredients of the cake are also sold.
May I ask men in the world?

Hi Miko-san! Your post on Valentine's Day is really very educational! I am a person who strictly follows the Japanese culture, although I am not Japanese myself. This year, I made chocolate for a guy, and I'm still very nervous about giving it to him because I'm afraid that he will reject it. Do the Japanese teenage girls have these kind of worries too? I love your blog and I'll be back again! =D
Very interesting article! I've heard about that particular tradition of only girls giving chocolates to guys during Valentines' Day. Don't the guys reciprocate during Whites' Day? (March 14th)
I would love to try the international award-acclaimed MAI chocolate..(it says Kinako? Is that the powder?), looks reaaaaally good!
AWESOME ARTICLE!!!
I just came accross your article and just browse it because i am in the middle of work. i'm not even finished reading it yet but i really found it very very interesting...
I believed that You are such a beautiful person from the inside out. Just wanna take this time to appreciate you and thank you for pouring out your passion in this article.
You did it very well.
I'll get back to you very soon...
You are a blessing!
In Christ,
rina
I've heard about the different way the Japanese celebrate Valentine's Day - it definitely doesn't get done the same way in Western nations.
I hope you do a blog post about White Day as well - that would certainly be interesting to read.
@Jiaxuan - I wish you the best of luck with your chocolates, I hope he accepts them :)
Hullo!
Thankyou for the beautiful pictures of birds!
I will be performing live on stage in Takayama, in Japan in November, with fellow Australians in Australian animal and bird costumes, at the Sukyo Mahikari ceremony held for the Creator God...
There will be lots of people dressed as cockatoos and kookaburras on stage!
It will be fun!
Can you come to watch?
