20090615-01.jpgThere is Hamana lake in Hamamatsu.
HAMANA KO NIHA HAMANA KO GA ARIMASUwink.
The area is about 70, and the average depth is 5m.
Hamana lake is located the coast of pacific oceanwave.
Because of this location, fresh water and seawater are mixed in Hamana lake.
So over 440 fishesfish include both freshwater fishes and sea fishes live there.
440 SHURUI MO SEISOKU SITEIMASU.

I went UOTTO which is an aquarium that we can see these interesting eyecreatures in Hamana lake.
SUIZOKUKAN"UOTTO"NI ITTE KIMASITA.
There is located by Hamana lake, and it is quite smaller than other aquariums in Osaka or Okinawa.
But there were not so many tourists and customers, and there was enough for my kids to enjoyhappy01.

In this aquarium,we mysteriously can put our hand into the water tankpapershine.
We cannot touch fishes, but kids are very pleased and try to do so.

But...why the water never overflow from the hole?
I still can't understand. Don't anybody know why?

This aquarium UOTTO established when Fishery Technical Research Institute was rebuildedflair.
"UO"in UOTTO means fish"魚" in Japanese.
One jr. high school student living in Hamana came up with this name.

The water tanks like tonnel are not rare in Japanese aquariumhappy01.
I rather surprized that rays and sharksdanger swim in Hamana lakesweat01.
The depth of this water tank is almost same as it of Hamana lake, and almost all fishes swimming in this water tank are sea fishes.

Instead of that, there are the space for kids to touch small shells and crabs, and space for experiments about fishesclover.

it would be good if you yse not only phrases in romaji, but will duplicate it with kanji and kana. I think it can be easier for understanding

about that amazing aquarium (which can be intruded by hand) I think either the pressure in room is high, but for that there must be gateway at the entrance or pressure in tank should be lower than atmospheric pressure(there must be low-pressure zone above water in tank)

what an interesting aquarium!
i feel cool when looking through the photos . summer in my city is hot and wet
the presure in sied the tank is lower , so the water won't escape from the tank~
