20090622-01.jpgJune 21th is Father's Dayclover.
6GATSU 21NICHI HA CHICHI NO HI DESU.
According to my memory, Mother's Day on May and Father's Day on June can be celebrated in many parts of the world.
Did you give your father any giftspresent?
MINASAN HA NANIKA PUREZENTO SHIMASITAKA?

In Japan, almost all people give something to their parents in Father's Day and Mother's Day, so various reccomended items are ranged in department storeshappy01.
The popular gifts are flowerstulip and sweetscake for mother, and clothest-shirt and alcoholbeer for father.

I have given pare goods for themgemini such as beer glasses, underwares, and hats of sakiko whose web site is linking with this blog.
And you can check these presents inside box at the top photo is sent on this yearconfident.

This product is difficult to getbearing otherwise you don't live in Shizuoka because it is produced by small local storescoldsweats02.
NAKANAKA TE NI HAIRI MASEN.
The rare green tea in Shizuoka is very pleased even in Japangood.
TAIHEN YOROKOBARERU NO DESU.

In this year, I gave gifts for father and mother at the same time.
Green tea is just like a extra gift. Actually, the main giftshine is "pedmater."
OMAKE MITAI NA MONO DESUclover.
It is the small machine which counts how many steps did you take in a day when you wear it on your belt.
My father and Mother love walking, and they walk around the park everydayshoe for their health.
MAINICHI KOUEN WO ARUITE IMASU.
So I thought it would be good to count the number of steps like games.
HOSUU WO HAKATTEMITE HA DOUKANAflair?

These days, pedmaters tend to be digital.
Moreover, what I gave can be counted in a bag or a pocketnotes.

20090622-05.jpg

This is for my mother.
It has the same function with father's one, but I changed into this which has design of Hello Kitty not to mistake to father's onecoldsweats01.

This pedmeter has a function that we can have a virtual experience of walking all areas in Japanwave by calculating how much length did you walked from the number of stepsfoot.
According to this pedmeter, the distance to do is about 18,850kmwobbly.
18,850 KIRO TO NATTE IMASU.
How many years does it take
even father and mother walk 2 to 3km per a day?
NANNEN KAKARU NO KANA?
Well...it is impossible to do until they live, isn't itshock?
I've make a mistake!
But it's OK...
I hope this will be a chance for them to think "we try until finishing walking in Japan!thunder".
NIHON ISSHUU SURUMADE GANBARU ZO!

During tripping in Japan, the pedmeter introduces the showplaces and special products in that area. By this function, we can feel as if we actually visit this areachick.

Now, there are also other unique pedmeters.
I found the product,"Pocket Pikachuthunder".
This pedmeter has an assumption that Pikachu, one of the famous character in Pokemon, is in the pedmeter, and the more you walks, the more behaviorsbaseballbicycle Pikachu take.
IRONNA SHIGUSA WO MISERUYOU NI NARIMASU.
Besides, some cell phonesmobilephone for elders are popular bacause these have the function as pedmeter.

Cool blog! It is interesting to hear about the different pedometers! I remember when Pocket Pikachu came out in the United States. Most kids just shook it instead of walking. Lazy!

I am so grateful and happy that you are doing this blog for everyone to see. I love the japanese culture, food and places.
I hope you continue to post blog regularly

I wish you the best and your family

Namaste

I had a Pocket Pikachu in college, years ago. I had forgotten all about that! How fun.

I have got cellphone with the same function - counting my steps. Of course first of all I've tried to cheat with him, but it have some kind of protection from it - despite of my shaking it no one step was added to count until I make few steps

such a great blog! I hope you don't mind if I bookmark your site. ^_^
